The Louisiana Lady Bulldogs swim team recently competed in a pair of meets involving Hannibal.
On Dec. 6, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Hannibal and had a few solid performances.
Shayla Hopkins took second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:50.88) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:31.80).
She also teamed with Teagan Carrington, Abby Moore, and Marin Powers to help the 200-yard freestyle squad place fourth with a time of 2:37.13.
Powers placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:38.12) and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (3:26.05).
Carrington took fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle (48.45).
In the 100-yard freestyle, Moore was fifth and Carrington was sixth.
Meanwhile, the 200-yard medley relay team of Moore, Hopkins, Powers, and Carrington finished fifth.
In a meet hosted by the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs on December 12, they had four first place finishes.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Hopkins won the event (30.53) Michelle Watts took fifth and Carrington was sixth.
Mary Price won the 100-yard backstroke (1:39.86), followed by Moore in second place (1:40.63).
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Hopkins won the event with a time of 1:28.05. Powers took third place (1:37.58) and Watts came in fifth place as three Lady Bulldogs scored team points in the event.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Watts, Price, Hopkins, and Moore finished in second place (2:45.33) to score another four team points.
Powers came out as the winner of the 200-yard freestyle event with a time of 2:55.65.
Moore took second in the 100-yard freestyle event (1:24.07).
As for the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Lady Bulldogs finished in third place with a time of 2:31.03.
The team consisted of Powers, Watts, Carrington, and Hopkins.
