In spite of being without their leading scorer, the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs traveled to Winfield last week and left with an impressive 45-25 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs’ defense held Winfield to eight points or less in all four quarters.

After jumping out to a 15-6 first quarter lead, Louisiana pushed the lead to 17 points at halftime.

They then held on late for the 20-point win.

“I think this was our best all-around offensive performance of the year,” Louisiana head coach Derriick Branstetter said. “With our leading scorer unavailable, we moved the ball well and got contributions from multiple players. Hopefully, we can carry this performance forward as we finish the season.”

Kamara Combs led the team with 11 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block while Mechia Campbell had eight points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Michelle Watts had eight points, six rebounds, and one steal; Jamie Sencenbaugh had seven points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and one steal; Maria Gutierrez had six points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist; and Faith Rule scored five points, four assists, and three rebounds.
