Gloe scores 16 in Lady Bulldogs’ 12 point loss to Van-Far

By Taylor Lockard

The Louisiana Lady Bulldogs fell to the Van-Far Lady Indians during an away game on Thursday, Nov. 29, by a final score of 40-28.

Head Coach Derrick Branstetter believes the Lady Dawgs loss was largely due to the fact that it was difficult for them to maintain control of the ball.

“We struggled to take care of the ball again and that is just something we can’t do,” Branstetter said. “We know scoring will be difficult, so we need to do a better job of getting the best possible shot on each possession.” The Lady Dawgs took 41 shots but only made 13 attempts, as well as being just 2-for-7 on their free throws.

However, the Lady Dawgs have been building a stronger defense than what they maintained before, which Branstetter says will allow them to keep building up the momentum. “I was pleased with our defensive improvement,” Branstetter said. “I thought we were more active this time out and we can definitely build on that.”

Junior Mechia Campbell dribbles the ball while avoiding the defense of a Van-Far player.
