A young Louisiana Bulldogs team was within striking distance of a solid South Shelby program last Thursday night.

They overcame an 11 point first quarter deficit before taking the lead at halftime.

Unfortunately, they trailed by just three points entering the fourth quarter before being outscored 19-6 in a tough 55-39 loss.

In the first quarter, the Cardinals jumped out to a 15-4 lead by dominating the play in the paint.

Mason Washington’s shot at the buzzer for Louisiana gave the Bulldogs some needed momentum.

Tramaine Chatman took over the game in the second quarter.

He made a big three-pointer and added another basket to score five points during the team’s 7-0 run.

He then hit a three-pointer to give the Bulldogs the lead as Chatman scored nine of his 11 points in the quarter.
