Closed Champ Clark Bridge

Fog settles over the closed Old Champ Clark Bridge Monday.

The Old Champ Clark Bridge got a reprieve while crews completed the construction of a tie-in connecting the new bridge approach to the Two Rivers Marina.

Last Friday the bridge closed, presumably for good, 33,347 days after it opened to traffic on May 12, 1928.

The closure, initially slated for Tuesday, was accelerated to allow use of the new tie-in to access the marina on Labor Day.
