Mr. Joseph C. Mabry, 77, of Clarksville, Mo., died Nov. 20, 2019, at his home in Clarksville, Mo. Cremation rites are being provided by Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Mo. Memorial services were held from 4 - 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Tievoli Hills near Clarksville, Mo.
He was born on March 26, 1942, in Callaway County, Mo., to William Richard Mabry and Esther Irene Barton Mabry. He was married to Holly Hintz Mabry for 55 years, and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Malinda Hoy (Steve) of Bois D’Arc, Mo., a son, Barton Mabry (Michelle) of Farmington, Mo., two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Madelyn Mabry, and a brother, Wayne (Carolyn) Mabry of Clarksville, Mo.
Mr. Mabry was a graduate of Wellsville/Middletown R-I High School and continued his education at Truman State University receiving a master’s degree. He worked as a math instructor at Pike R-III Clopton, a cashier at Clifford Bank, he was owner of Professional Services, a contract janitorial service for Dundee (Holcim) at Clarksville, Mo. He retired from GM Wentzville Assembly Center, and did some excavating services.
He served as a board member on the Calumet Township Fire Protection Association, was a 50-year member of the City of Clarksville Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of the Pike County Fire Chiefs Association and Pike County Local Emergency Planning Commission. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Clarksville Boat Club, ELKS Lodge, and one of the founders of the Bi-County Rescue Squad.
