Dayle W. Tredway, 89, of Louisiana, Mo., died July 19, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Mo. Services will be held at noon Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Mo. The Rev. Cole Branstetter will officiate. Burial will be at the New Harmony Cemetery near Curryville, Mo. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1930 in Vandalia, Mo., to James Tredway and Willie Burns Tredway. On May 5, 1963, he married to Shirley Branstetter and she survives.
He is also survived by four children, Vicki (Frank) Swarnes, Ron (Tammy) Hurshman, Rusty (Renae) Tredway, and Randy (Lisa) Tredway, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
One son, Rick Hurshman, his parents, Cleve and Willie Tredway, four sisters, Dorothy, Velma, Pauletta, and Sue, and six brothers, Briggs, Kenneth, Raymond, Verl, Mac, and Richard, all died earlier.
He was a veteran serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1953. He worked at Dundee Cement Co. at Clarksville, Mo., from 1966 to 1994. After retirement, he enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He was a wonderful father and husband, and will be greatly missed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Stewart, A.J. Wombles, Melvin Dempsey, and Paul Traynor. Active pallbearers will be Daylan Hurshman, Adam Tredway, Jordan Tredway, Jerry Tredway, Mike Geery, and Trevor Kessler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pike County Home Care and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
