Aneva Rebecca Wiens

Aneva was born in Omaha, Neb., to Oscar and Dolley (Shepherd) Sander. She was united in marriage to Jack Wiens on Sept. 29, 1944, in Lakeview, Ore. Jack died earlier on Nov. 19, 1995.

Aneva grew up on Lakeview, Ore. until she married Jack. Following Jack’s return from WWII, the couple moved to California. They had lived in the Bowling Green area since 1986.

Aneva was a member of the Morning Star Fellowship Church, where she was a door greeter and known as “The Prayer Warrior” and “the official Granny of the Church.” Aneva liked to spend her time sewing, decorating houses, and working in interior design. She loved lighthouses and had a very extensive collection. In 1986, Aneva went in with her daughter and son-in-law to form M&W Farms, where they raised beef cattle. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aneva used to be a snowbird, spending the winters in Florida.

Aneva is survived by children, Jack Wiens Jr. of Ashland, Ore. and Cheryl Mitchell (Ken) of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Stacey Wiens, Jeff Wiens, Carrie Mitchell, and Mark Mitchell (Jessica); seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Linea Johnson and Sandra Godlove, both of Ashland, Ore.

Her parents; her husband; and three siblings, all died earlier.

Pallbearers were Mark Mitchell, Dylan Collins, Ben Yoder, Dave Murray, Gabriel Bryant, Michael Bryant, and Elijah Bryant.

Memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery Association or Morning Star Fellowship Church.
