Louisiana – Almost $5,000 in state grant money will allow Louisiana Public Library to invest in its computers, a library representative said Monday.
$173,396 in grants to 35 Missouri libraries were announced Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft last Wednesday. The money could be used for literacy programs and upgrades to technology. The grant was targeted at small libraries, with budgets under $100,000 and fewer than 4,500 patrons.
The money will be spent on updating the library’s computers to the most recent Microsoft operating system, according to Assistant Librarian Carol Oldani, along with other improvements to the library’s technology. Oldani said the library had already received the check.
