PAYNESVILLE – Sandra (Yates) Warren was one of the “Jewels” honored Saturday, June 22, by the Missouri Conference Missionary Society.

The honor was bestowed at the 49th Gala Luncheon of the Missouri Conference Missionary Society in St. Louis, Mo., at St. Paul AME Church.

Warren, who represented the Susianna Houston Missionary Society of Bethel AME Church in Paynesville, was recognized alongside eleven other “Jewels” from different churches.

Sandra serves as Secretary of the Missionary Society of her church, stewardess, steward and sings in the choir.

She is well known for singing solos when the choir is not available.

She is truly a servant of God and loves the Lord and her family.

Sandra was married to John Warren for 52 years until he went to his heavenly home in 2015.

Attending the luncheon was a group including Pastor C. Jessel Strong and First Lady Arvella Strong, Sister Maymie Wheeler, Sister Gracie Wyatt, Sister Virginia Stark, Sister Joanne Hammuck and her family, including her sister Janet Douglas and children Deidre, Johnny, Dawn Warren and Michael Frye.

All of the honorees received a crystal paper weight for their dedication to their church and missionary society. The Bethel AME Church family was very happy to have Sandra as their honoree.

Her favorite scripture is John 3:16.
