During the first quarter of 2019 the Louisiana Community Food Pantry served 964 families for a total of 2506 individuals. This amounts to a distribution of approximately 10,550 (plus) pounds of food.

The facility was recently the recipient of two ‘deep freezes’ made possible through the generosity of the Joan Carroll Family. Carroll was instrumental in the management and food distribution of the original Louisiana Food Pantry.

The bake and rummage sale held at the Pantry on April 5 was a huge success due to the hard work of volunteers (especially the expert ladies) and those who donated a fascinating array of items.

During the months of January, February, and March the following gave their time and hard work as volunteers: Fred and Phyllis Bridwell, Jerry Campbell, Leo Cloninger, Kay and Steve Condon, Helen and Walt Crew, Gary Cook, Roger Elliott, Jim Gott, Shirley and Albert Haislet, Lynn Harvey, Sharon House, Cynthia Hunt, Don McCarty, Don Morton, Judy Mendez, Diane Moore, David and Jackie Onnen, Jerry Pellikaan, Linda Prior, Carolyn Scott, Jim Shrum, Howard Sommer, Steve Waite, and Steven Wright.

To volunteer or make inquiries, call Sara at 754-2421 or visit during the pantry’s hours of operation: Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon as well as 4-6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays.
