LHS Quizbowl goes 8-2

The LHS Quizbowl team began its season on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Mizzou Fall Academic Tournament.

The team 8-2 over 10 rounds. They defeated Smith Cotton (495-5), St. Charles Lutheran B (380-80), Jefferson City (365-95), Fort Osage B (395-85), St. Pius X A (430-70), Hickman A (365-40), St. Charles Lutheran A (385-110), and Moberly (325-165). They lost to Ladue B (150-415) and Ladue A (150-530).

The team placed third place overall and first place in the Small School Division.

Senior Michael Powers led the Bulldogs and placed first overall individually with an average of 150 points per game.

Brandy Farmer contributed with two “Powers” (when the question is answered very early and is worth more points) and three toss ups for 60 points.

Marin Powers also answered two toss ups for 20 points.

The Bulldogs will be in action again on November 11 at the Washington University Fall Academic Tournament at Washington University in St. Louis.
