Bowling Green, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension will reach out to local communities to help farm families, individuals and businesses with succession, estate and retirement planning.
The program called Your Farm, Your Business, Your Future consists of three evenings to be held on Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 17, 24, and 31 at the Pike County Courthouse in Bowling Green.
The program will also be offered via technology in Kirksville, Monroe City, Mt. Vernon, Osceola and Richland.
A team of University of Missouri Extension Specialists with extensive experience and a Missouri probate judge will be giving presentations and leading activities.
This class is designed where individuals can attend certain evenings or the entire class.
The goal is to help owners of farms and small businesses make plans, which may include creating a plan for transferring a farm or business to the next generation, or creating/updating an estate plan or planning for retirement planning.
Topics such as: setting goals, assessing a farm’s or business’s strengths and weaknesses, the probate process in Missouri, estate planning tools, calculating retirement needs and more will be covered.
Pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11.
