Fall in love with Bowling Green
I love Bowling Green! I love all you people and what our town stands for!

WHAT'S IN A NAME
When you have more than one child, it becomes difficult to remember their names. Oh, you know who’s who. And it is easy to pick them out in a crowd of other kids: “mine…mine…not mine…looks like mine…etc.”
Shopping local helps build our community
In decades of “self-help” to “do it yourself” culture, society tells us we should be able to make it on our own. The world celebrates independence, but God has a different story, which is, we were created for connection.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL GOODBYE
My daughter climbed the steps of the school bus on the first day of kindergarten, her tiny legs stretching to meet each stair. She plopped down on a bench facing our home and glanced out the window.

There is so much to enjoy in Bowling Green
Thanks to all who attended and donated to the PACT Gospel Sing. We certainly have great talent in Pike County and the Spirit of the Lord was in this place!

Bowling Green is a great place to raise a family
Storefront improvements and public space enhancements have proven to be high-impact, low-cost strategies for attracting tourists and clientele to Bowling Green.

THE SUNDAY DRIVE
Summer Sunday afternoons stretched long and sweltering when I was 10 years old.
Bowling Green is being transformed one strategic step at a time
City and downtown revitalization do not require millions of dollars, but it does require commitment by the city, its citizens, and a master plan. For cities with limited capital and resources, taking incremental small steps often proves more sustainable and effective than attempting large-scale transformations.

MA'S FAMOUS LEMON CAKE
My mother-in-law was a small woman with a voice as soft and earnest as a whisper at bedtime. But what she lacked in vocal heft she made up for in determination and attitude.
A big thank you for all those who support Bowling Green
I am so thankful to all the people who support our wonderful town in so many ways! Whether it’s a barbecue fundraiser by the White Rose Church, a barbecue and bake sale to raise money for young people going to summer camp by the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene, or our community paying respects to the men and women of our armed forces who fought, were maimed, or died, and respect to their families who sacrificed so much and were recognized at this past Memorial Day parade and services. Thanks also to the VFW Post 5553, their Auxiliary, and the Bowling Green Bobcat Marching Band for their special recognition of our fallen heroes.
