AARON STRAUBE

Aaron Willis Straube, 51, of Bowling Green, Mo., passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025. He was born June 14, 1973, to Chris and Vickie Straube. Aaron was active in sports and FFA at Bowling Green High School, class of 1991. He graduated from Columbia College with a nursing degree.
Aaron married Kelly (Street) Straube on May 20, 2000, and they have a son, Holden Straube.
Aaron’s life celebration will be held at a later date.
In addition to his love of family, hunting, sports and rural life, Aaron had a passion for nursing. He was an RN. For nearly 15 years, he worked in flight medicine, including as a flight nurse and educator throughout Missouri, Illinois and Iowa, where he was part of the lifesaving teams that transport patients and deliver critical care via helicopter. In 2015, Aaron was named Missouri State Nurse of the Year by the Missouri Emergency Medical Service Association. He received two Heartsaver Hero Awards, and Cardinal Glennon Hospital honored him with a Clinical Save Award. Aaron was also a director of nursing and director of risk management at several nursing homes and community care centers, where he took joy in befriending and chatting with his elderly patients.
Aaron was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Bowling Green since childhood. In recent years, he enjoyed sharing inspirational Bible verses and Christian music.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Kelly Street Straube; son, Holden Straube; parents, Chris and Vickie Straube; brother, Trent Straube; brother-in-law, Brian Anders; aunts and uncles, Betty and Ake Takahashi, Annice and RJ Allensworth and Lucy Scherder; mother-in-law, Janet Bibb; father-in-law, Bob Street (Carol); and many close-knit cousins and lifelong friends. Aaron was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Straube Anders; a special grandma, Lil Straube; his namesake uncle, Willis Straube; and numerous extended family members.
