DOROTHY JANE “DOTTIE” BROWN-MURRAY

 Dorothy Jane “Dottie” Brown-Murray, 88, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025.
 A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana, MO. Fr. Henry Ussher officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until time of service Monday at the church. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Keely Center in Louisiana, MO.
 Dottie was born on October 19, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Lee and Katherine Stevens. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Socko” Brown. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1994. To this union there were eight children.
 She later married John Murray on October 23, 2004. Her devoted husband, John, survives her, along with his two children: Denise Fanucchi and John Murray, Jr., and four grandchildren.
 Dottie’s life can be best described by her devotion to her faith, family, community and friends, and her passion for cooking. All of which she did with class and grace.
 Faith: Dottie was a devout Catholic, and her daily life served as a testament to that faith. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisiana, Missouri. Traveling to Rome, Italy during the Great Jubilee 2000 with John was one of her greatest experiences in the Catholic faith.
 Family: As a young couple starting out, Dottie was a stay-at-home mom and Socko worked to provide a home for their growing family of eight children. She then went on to become a grandmother and a great grandmother. Her elegance and grace were truly notable. To know her was to love her.
 Community and Friends: Dottie was very involved in her community. She was a member of the library board, school board, and PEO. Dottie and her husband John were very active members of Rotary. She had many close friends, and those friendships encompassed all aspects of her life, and each was very special to her.
 Cooking: Above all, Dottie had a passion for cooking and entertaining. She was known for hosting lavish dinner parties and social events. Later in life she managed and was the head chef at the Pike County Country Club and Tievoli Hills Resort. It was considered an honor if you were lucky enough to get one of her own special recipes.
 She was also survived by four of her children: Pennye Lentes, Ted (Lori) Brown of Louisiana, MO, Stacy (Mike) Grover of Moscow Mills, MO, Tim (Tracy) Brown of Columbia, MO, and daughter in-law Lisa Brown of Louisiana, MO. Along with 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
 She was also preceded in death by four of her children: Cyndi, Steven, Jefferson and Christopher Brown. Two daughters-in-law, Marsha and Staci Brown. A grand-daughter Katherine “Katie” Grover and infant grandson Nicholas Brown.
 She was loved by all and will be truly missed.
