GENE WILLIAMS

 Gene Williams, 78, of Taylor, MO passed away at 3:15 AM, Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home.
 There will be no services at this time.
 Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
 Gene was born in Alton, IL, on June 26, 2025, to Harold Williams, Sr. and Mary Agnus “Aggie” Burcham. He was married to Carole McCallister Williams on October 7, 1975, in Bowling Green, MO. She survives.
 Other survivors include his children, Michael (Teresa) Ellis of Quincy, Il, Deanna Flowers of Benton, AR, grandchildren, Matthew Ellis of Quincy, IL, Quentin Flowers of Benton, AR, Kyler Flowers of Benton, AR, great grandchildren, Konnor Flowers, Kayson Flowers, and Willow Flowers.
 Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Williams.
 Gene served his country in the Army and was Vietnam veteran.
 Gene enjoyed science fiction, westerns, history shows and the Gold Rush. Gene had a great love for his dogs, Delilah, Wren, Audrey and Popcorn. If one sneezed or looked crossways, he took them to see Doc. He was often found tending to his garden, where he took particular pride in his blackberries and caring for his yard. At times, he enjoyed doing some grilling and drinking a cold Mountain Dew. He was a gun enthusiast and a sharpshooter. Gene also enjoyed gold mining. Canasta, Farkle, Mexican Train and Yahtzee were a few of his favorite games that he liked to play.
 Gene had a collection of magazines and bottles, among other things. He was very organized. Despite his serious demeanor, Gene had a subtle humor and a gentle presence.
 Gene’s legacy is one of dedicationwhether to his hobbies, his love for Mountain Dew, or the simple joys of life, his memory will live in the hearts of those who knew him, and the stories of his life will continue to inspire. Gene will be deeply missed.
