IMOGENE EASTMAN

Imogene ‘Jean’ Eastman, 89, of Jefferson City, MO, formerly of Louisiana, MO, passed away Monday, July 7 at the Primrose Retirement Community in Jefferson City.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12 from 12 2 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and be officiated by the Rev. Don Kelley. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Mrs. Eastman was born December 23, 1935, on the family farm in Pike County Missouri, near the little town of New Hartford to Otto Willis and Ruth Maureen Reese Willis. Imogene was the sixth of nine children.
She loved growing up on the family’s 140-acre farm with her parents and many siblings. They never had indoor plumbing, but got electricity when Jean was 13 years old in 1948.
Jean married Harold ‘Bill’ Eastman on Feb. 19, 1955. After living in St. Louis and St. Charles, they moved to Louisiana in 1958.
Mrs. Eastman was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Louisiana, where she taught Sunday School and worked on the baptismal and kitchen committees for many years. She also worked as a volunteer at the Louisiana Area Historical Museum, Pike County Hospice, and the gift shop at Pike County Memorial Hospital. She worked as an ‘Avon Lady’ selling makeup products door-to-door for some years. She also worked at a local florist and at the Arcade Clothing Store for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick Eastman and wife Pat of Jefferson City and their children Zach Eastman of Omaha, NE and Karina Amsden and husband Joseph and their children Liam and Raleigh of Jefferson City; and Phil Eastman and wife Kim of Olathe, KS and their son Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.
Imogene Eastman was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Otto in 1965 and 1970 respectively; siblings Wilma Marie Willis (Aug. 3, 1952), Walter Kenneth Willis (April 26, 1995), Otto Major Willis (July 31, 1997), Clara Louise Atkinson (April 5, 2003), Orville Lewis Willis (Aug. 8, 2006), Charles Thomas Willis (April 21, 2007), Garland Edward Willis (March 16, 2018), and Lena Esther Willis (Dec. 28, 2022).
She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson, Nathan David Eastman (July 2, 2004) and Daniel Christopher Eastman (Jan.30, 2024).
Honorary Pallbearers are Liam Amsden and Raleigh Amsden.
Pallbearers are Zach Eastman, Matthew Eastman, Joe Amsden, Kevin Sartain, Duane Willis and Denny DeWeese.
