CARLENE HARPOLE

 Carlene Harpole, 88, of Louisiana, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, Missouri. Carlene Joyce Parks was born May 8, 1936 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. Her parents were Raymond Parks and Faye Willard Parks. She attended school in Pittsfield, IL. After High School, Carlene married Marion Clayton Shoemaker on December 24, 1955. The couple were blessed with two children, Dennis and Wendy. Clayton died in a power company accident on February 24, 1970.
 Carlene married Robert LeRoy Harpole on January 21, 1972 in Louisiana, Missouri. Robert had two children, a daughter, Robin and a son, Edwin. Carlene and Bob made their home in Louisiana, Missouri. Later they moved to Wentzville, Missouri and when Bob retired from Ameren UE in 1998, they moved back to Louisiana, Missouri. Bob passed away on March 21, 2017.
 Carlene is survived by son, Dennis E. Shoemaker, of Roodhouse, IL and Wendy Shoemaker of Louisiana, Missouri and step-children, Robin Nay of O’Fallon, Missouri and Edwin Harpole of New Canton, IL; 30 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.; two brothers, William Parks of Pittsfield, IL and Donald Parks of Jacksonville, IL.
 Carlene was a member of First Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church, both in Louisiana. Carlene’s faith and love of Jesus were a constant source of strength and comfort to her. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework as hobbies. Early in life, Carlene worked as an LPN. She spent most of her life as homemaker. Her family wish to express their thanks to the staff of the Maple Grove Lodge for their kindness and consideration in caring for Carlene. . Graveside services will be held at the Griggsville Cemetery in Girggsville, IL at a future date. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Griggsville is assisting the family.
