George Richard Barlow Jr., 65, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at his home.

Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. A private memorial service will be held by the family per George’s wishes.

George was born Sept. 27, 1959, in St. Charles, Mo., to George Richard Sr. and Rosalee (Hanson) Barlow. He was united in marriage to Sherry Meeks on Sept. 18, 1981. She died earlier on May 29, 2022.

George grew up in St. Charles and attended St. Charles public schools. After residing in Clarksville for many years, George and Sherry relocated to Bowling Green in 2016. George was an automotive mechanic most of his life, starting right out of school. At different times George would toy with the idea of changing professions, but he always went back to mechanics. George retired a few years ago so that he could provide care for Sherry when she fell ill.

In his free time, George enjoyed building gaming computers and playing online games with his friends. He also enjoyed flower gardening. George loved spending time spoiling his cats and hanging out with his grandchildren.

George is survived by children, Stacy Jean Barlow of Bowling Green, Sarah Marie Rebholz (Joseph) of Clarksville, Jeremy Richard Barlow (Kaylah) of Paynesville, and Joshua James Barlow (Jared) of Wentzville; grandchildren: Rylley Wilt, Dylan Powers, Emmalynn Wilt, Kynzie Wilt, Nicholas Welch, Zoiey Watts, Aversyn Barlow, Videl Rebholz, Hunter Barlow, and Vivian Rebholz; great-grandson, Dean Wilt, who is due in April; brothers, Rick Barlow and Jimmy Barlow; sisters, Judith Massman, Kathy Piel, Linda Phillips, and Mary Black; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

His parents; wife; and brother, Randy Barlow, died earlier.
