EARL WILLIAM MCPIKE SR.

E arl William McPike Sr., 62, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Services for Earl were held Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation was Wednesday from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
Earl was born Jan. 7, 1962, in Hannibal, Mo., to Carl William and Bessie (Talton) McPike. Bessie survives.
Earl is also survived by children: Amy Vaughn of St. Louis, Joseph Mc-Bride (Aimee) of St. Peters, E.J. McPike (Patience) of Troy, Malik McPike of St. Charles, Kobe McPike (Lauren) of Bowling Green, Talia Brown of O’Fallon, and Terrika Brown of Des Moines; grandchildren: Jaxson McPike, Jada McPike, Amara McPike, Kevin Pittman, Christian Baker, Kya McPike, Mya McBride, and Amari McPike; siblings, Yvonne Morgan (Maurice), and Tyrone McPike; nephew; James Sledge III, whom was like a son to Earl; and uncle, Calvin Talton.
His father, Carl McPike; sister, Sandra “Speedy” Talton-Sledge; grandma, Pauline Talton; and close friend, Kevin McCloud, died earlier.
Earl grew up in Bowling Green and was a 1980 graduate of Bowling Green High School. While in school he played basketball and baseball. Earl attended Central Methodist where he played basketball on scholarship. Following school, Earl went to work in construction and at the grain elevator in Vandalia with his dad. His main job and passion was umpiring for youth baseball and semi-pro baseball.
Earl enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and rabbit hunting with his friend, Kevin McCloud. He also loved traveling to attend his children’s sporting events. Earl enjoyed watching movies, especially westerns. He loved hanging out with family and playing horseshoes at their Labor Day gatherings. Other interests include barbequing, playing Dominos, and playing Spades.
Pallbearers were E.J. McPike, Malik McPike, Kobe McPike, Joseph McBride, and James Sledge IV. Honorary pallbearers were Xzavion Amman and Izayah Amman.
